Prarthanashtakam

I pray to Gurudev,
“May the world become like heaven.”
May the life be loftiest; may we bring
spirituality in practice!
May we not live a selfish life;
may we be caring towards all men!
O Gurudev!
Bless us with thoughts we should think!
May we be devoted to the Ultimate Reality;
Gurudev’s command!
May we be wedded to true love, daily
spiritual routine, Dharma and pious deeds!
May we be averse to untruth,
injustice and egotism!
May we be prepared to lay down
Our lives serving others!
May we not be of little intellect;
may we be cosmic and divine in existence!
May we be one with Rama consciousness,
Krishna consciousness, cosmic being,
Divine Existence!
May we subdue our senses;
may we be valiant and patient!
May we be clean and pure in mind;
may we be engaged in Dharma!
May we be free from fear in body,
mind and intellect!
May we be fearless in action;
may we open our affection to all!
May we sing paeans for the Lord
to attain Ultimate Truth!
May Knowledge of Supreme Brahman
dawn on us and deliver us!
May our body and mind be
always pure in conduct!
May we never be deserted by
spiritual power even for a minute!
May we remember our immortal
Atman in every breath!
May we always be equanimous
even in the face of death!
O Gurudev! May we always Know
your immortal Light as own Self!
You are always Truth Consciousness!
May the whole world know!
You are beyond sects,
castes and nationality.
You are free from diseases, immutable,
omnipresent and beyond phenomena.
May virtues and righteousness grow in the
world; may everyone perform his duty!
May everybody be solemn at heart
and speak truth and knowledge
May the thoughts of being lowly or
untouchable be banished from our hearts!
May everybody be pure in mind
and virtuous in acts!
May we be different physically,
we are one in essence!
May all have the same Knowledge that
Makes one free from doubts of duality!
‘Tukdo’ says may everybody
in the world attain this immortal state!
He may not abandon his home
but remain absorbed in the Guru’s feet.
