Saphala Ekadashi

Yudhishthir asked swami what is the Ekadashi that occurs in the dark fortnight of the moth of paush (December January, called Margshirsh in Gujarat and Maharashtra) celled? What is the method of observing it and which god is worshipped on that day? Please grace me with the answer.
Lord Sir Krishan said Rajendra I don’t get as much fulfillment by performing sacrifices involving big offerings as I get by doing the anushtham of the Ekashashi fast, Saphala Ekadashi occurs in the month of paush. On that day on should pray to lord Narayan following the prescribed method just as the shish serpent is superior among serpents gouda among brides and sir Vishnu among gods similarly the date of Ekadashi is superior among a fasts.
King On Saphala Ekadashi after repeating mantras with god name worship sir Hari with coconut fruit betel nut Bijaura and jamir alimes pomegranate, beautiful India gooseberries clove India plum and with droop and clay lamps in particular is a rule to donate small clay lamps at night one should worship god till mid night or I am with Vaishanvite men The fruit obtained by worshipping god till mind might cannot be obtained even by doing a penance for thousands of years.

Supreme King now listen to the take explaining why saphal Ekadashi is considered auspicious. A town famously know as champavati was at one time the capital of king Mahishmat.. King Mahishmat had five sons. The eldest of then was always involved in with other woman and was attached to prostitutes he spent his father money only on offend deeds he was always badly behaved. He would constantly insult vaishnavas and gods looking a such negative behavior of his son. King Mahishmat named him lumbhak father and brother then together chased him out of the kingdom . Lumbhak went into a thick forest. While staying there he almost robbed whole wealth of the town. On day when he come at night to rob the town the soldiers caught him. But when he proclaimed himself to be king Mahishmat son the solders relased him. He then retuned to the forest and started living a life by surviving on meat ma fruit so tree. That wicked mean and fruits of trees. That wicked resting place was near a sacred fig tree. That fig tree was a very old tree in that forest it was beloved to be a great god offensive minded lumbhak used to say there.
One day because of the influence of some accumulated good karma the fast on Ekadashi good karma the fast on Ekadashi got observed by him. On the tenth day of the dark fortnight of paush offensive lumbhak ate fruits of tree and because of lack of clothing he suffered the winter cold all night at that time neither did he get sleep nor did he get rest. He was benign lifeless he did not regain conciseness even at sunrise. Lumbhak remained unconscious even on the day of saphal Ekadashi in the afternoon he regained consciousness glancing here and there he got up an like a lame man he hobble an went into the forest. Out of hunger he was become wake and was suffering form pain king! Till lumbhak collected lots of fruits and ret tuned to the resting place the sun had set. Then he offered many fruits to the root of that big tree an said my lord Vishnu goddess leashed husband be satisfied with these fruits. Saying this lumbhak did not sleep the whole night. Like this he involuntarily observed this fast. Suddenly a voice spoke form the sky prince ! you will get the kingdom and a son as blessing of Saphala Ekadashi saying very god he accepted the boon. After this his form became divine sine then his superior intellect got immersed in singing lord Vishnu praises. Adorned with divine ornaments he got the king do with and reuled it for fifteen years he got a soon called mangy , When his son grew up lumbhak immediately detached him self form the kingdom an handed it over this son an himself went close to lord sir Krishan where man never experiences sorrow.
King one who observes the superior fast of Saphala Ekadashi enjoys happiness in this world and gets liberated after death. Blessed are people who observe the fast of saphal Ekadashi only their birth are successful.
O Yudhishthir by reading listening to the glory of this Ekadashi an by following it s precepts a person obtains the fruits that one gets by perfuming the Yajna.
