Self Knowledge is Superior to Yoga

Yogic science helps the mind become dissolved concentration gives power but in self Knowledge the mind is subated leading to the revelation of the Truth.

In the final stage of Yoga the verities, operative waves of the mind stuff, are dissolved into their originating source in the state of Samadhi. Samadhi does endow on with yogic powers, but the sense of individuality in not completely destroyed. One practicing yoga according to pathnjali Yoga or Kindling yoga conquers his mind experiences samdhi and gains power; but on emerging form Samadhi the sadhaka finds the world to be real. So that smash is called laya samashi or the dissolution of the mind.

Yogic science leads to the dissolution of the mind while Self Knowledge brings about the sudation of the mind.

What is the difference between sudation and dissolution of the mind?

Fro example you perceive a snake in a rope and get scared. Somebody consoles ad encourages you to be brave and fearless. This eradicates your far for the snake and you become engaged in your usual course of eating drinking and enjoying luxuries. So your fear reading the sale in theorem is gone; but when you go once again towards that snake of the row you develop palpitation. That means you forgot the reality of the sake only temporarily, but when you saw it again the same rope appeared to your as a snake. This is called dissolution of the mind.

Once you see the rope using a torch then despite appearing like sake it will not seem real to you become the snake is sublated.

Thus while self Knowledge sublets the snake of samara (appearing as the rope of Brahman); yagic scince lead to the dissolution of the mind where upon the sake of smsara become invisible. Without the help of self knowledge a seeker on the path of yoga can suffer a downfall. The fore Lord Krishna has said in the Gita; He who has fallen from yoga However, such a downfall is not like the one suffered by theworkdy people. The followers of Yogic scince are far more elevated than the worldly people but they jar just too small compared the lofty heights of Self knowledge.

So long as we do not understand self knowledge properly enough we are possessed by the shots of wealth learning, power of something else Then b superimposing virus ad vice of Nature on us unable to get joust it. We remain entangled in the boundaries of I am a Patel I am a Sindhi I am a Gujarati act. Let people say so and on too may overtly accept the same but deep within one should be aware I am neither patel nor sindhi nor Gujarati I am just what I A.M. I am the same as he supreme Being, Who is the immutable witness to the phenomena of Creation.

I am the consciousness personified am the Existence from which body mind intellect and ego have originated, who lends existence and vitality to them as also the power to change. The goal of Self Knowledge is to realize that Atman in is essential being.

Supernatural power and achievements are all confined to the realm of Nature. I have heard of Yogis who resurrecting the dead, ets are all good, but they are within the realm of Nature all the same Tattvajnana or knowledge of the Ultimate Trusth is far higher the hat. The only requirements for the attainment of the ultimate knowledge are a genuine curiosity of a man good moral character and the being grace of the Guru, that all. This much will suffice to bring about the final liberation the combination of Janaka curiosity and the grace of Self enlightened Ashtavakra bought froth the magic. Similarly curiosity of Pursuit and the grace of self enlightened shukadevaji led the former to self realization. The treasure of self knowledge far greater then the wealth of supernatural powers and riches. This is the supreme Treasure. Even lord Sri Krishna has praised it. Raman Maharshi and Ashtavakra Muni have attained this very Superme sate. Won’t you too like to attain it? For how long shall you continue to languish in the gutter of mundane troubles?

“Arise awake seek out the Self realized Guru and attain that glorious Self Knowledge.

“Understand the true nature of that knowledge by approaching illumined souls. If you prostrate at their feet render them service and question them with an open and guileless heart these wise seers of Truth will instruct you in that Knowledge.

Yogic scince hipless the mind become dissolved commiseration gives power but in Self Knowledge the mind its sublimated leading to the revelation of the Truth.

The dissolution of the mind in the self and sudation of the mind are two different things. Being assured by a reliable person that there was no real snake to fear abnout, you become fearless. But suppose another person comes and tells you to be careful on you part, despites the other person having assured you otherwise them your senses of reality in the snake will still prevail. Similary, no matter how high a state on attains through yogic scince more of less the fear of downfall will still linger in the yogi’s but jnami the enlightened soul has no fear whatsoever; because tee worked ha seen sautéed afro him. Just as the reality of the snake is sublated on knowing the rope a sit is with the help of a torch so also the snake in the from of this world is subated faor on who has attained self knowledge such an enlightened soul attains far state where he remains totally untouched by the work. Free form the untouched by the world. Free form the bondages of beings the doer or the experience He becomes a Jivanmukta liberated while still living. So all lather satiated of liberation become pretty small in comparison.

Just as the sum touches the world with the hands of its rays form its own place and yet remains sullied similarly the absolute consciousness’ the I comscuousene while permeating all bodies giving them Existence and vitality remains untouched by them. The sun caresses all tree and plants, it give life to all enables them to grow; but if they are destroyed the sun is not affected at all. Likewise the power that empowers even the sun reamisns fever unaffected all lathes same. The same Being sees hears speaks thinks and decides through the eyes ears tongue mingd and interest the eyes ears tongue and intellect respectively. It lends existence to ego the finite am mness. The goal of self knowledge is to realize that supreme Being as one own self.

It is the nature of the jiva to identify itself with the body it enters and considers the life to the body to be that of its own. As a matter of fact it has taken birth in thousand of bodied many times. It identified itself bodied many time with the body it entered though however that was not the real “I” the I would have departed along.

While the virtues and vices of Nature are fleeting the aim of self knowledge in to realize the non fleeting nature to your real self.

“Certainly there in no purifier in this world like Knowledge”.

If somebody remains ever engrossed in the thoughts of self Knowledge his desires attachments ect, will be eradicated. With his desires having gone the desired object start seeking him. The fame wealth and pleasures will dg him. Then fame wealth and pleasures will dog him even if the doesn’t desire for them. Somebody might say your Holiness we too do not desire for fame wealth or pleasures but still we have not attained fame. Hey even while saying I have o desire you have desire or fame in the depth of your mind. The desire should be eradicated from within. With objects will start chasing you this is the Law of Nature.

How can there be attachment or hatred in a min which so free form desires? One who being the witness has perfectly realized the Self in his hart always beholds his own self everywhere. There is absolutely no place fro attachment or hatred in the minds of such grace man.

Initially on has to steer clear of attachment and hatred and then n should strive to transcend the illusion of time and space as well. Attachment towards a particular place or time too is an illusion. This illusion too is dispelled with the attainment self knowledge.

One does attain success in the realm of yogic science upon steering clear and hatred however. Self knowledge helps on not only to transcend attachment and hatred but also to surpass the illusion of time and space to finally awaken one to the supreme self the Aboslute Braham, Such is the greatness of self knowledge

“He who engages his mind in self Knowledge or in thoughts of the supreme self even for a Monet actually happens to earn the merits of vesting al pilgrim centers, practicing’s all sorts of charity and perfuming all types of yajnas including that of Ashwamedha, etc.’
