Nectar of Gita

From Form to the Formless
For those who have emotional disposition but have not attained the higher state of reason to get established in Supreme Brahman, These two verses of the twelfth canto of Srimad Bhagaved Gait are immensely useful. The lord says. Fix your mind on Me only your intellect in Me, you shall no doubt live in alone hereafter.’
If You are unable to fix your mind steadily upon Me then by the YOGA of constant practice seek to reach Me Dhanajaya.
In the first eleven cantons the Lord enlightened Arjuna about the Knowledge of Ultimate Truth the Sankhya (one of the six systems of Hindu philosophy; Sankhya postulates two
Ultimate realites, Pursha and priority) philosophy and the karma yoga and revealed His cosmic form. The eight an ninth verse of the twelfth canto reflect the Lord realization that the problem Arjuna was facing is faced by the entire humanity. Therefore the Lord says in these two verse. Arjuna If you can not behold me everywhere if you can not mediate on my formless Being if you can not directly experience, Me the undivided pure consciousness: then take to take to the path of Attaining Me by mediating on my flute playing form; Through loving and meditating on my manifested form you can attain Me. That is if you cannot digest pure ghee, you can prepare Laddus with it or put it in other preparations.
These two verses seem to be meant for people who are dominated by emotions for those whose feelings are at variance with their thoughts. The hearts of such people say one thing and thing an their brains sing a completely different tune. A sentimental person when he goes to the temple. Is very happy at heart but his intellect raises doubts what is the nature of God Shall I be able to realized god. Which God is bigger? Am I on right path The heart is satisfied going a particular way but the intellect revolts and pulls in a different direction. Contrarily there are people who have heard and are dispensing that knowledge to others also but their hart is not satisfied. This happened in the life of Chaitany Mahaprabahu He was such a great scholar of philosophy that he would get the better of the most erudite men of his time. He mastered the knowledge of Ultimate Truth intellectually but had no peace or happiness in the hart. Then he entered the realm of the Self through kitten traversed the path of beholding the Lord in all beings.
Once an itinerant saint came wandering about and sat under a tree. It so happened that he lived under that tree for as long as twelve years. He would never leave the area shaded by the tree expect of defecation. He would live on whatever alms people brought to Him. His real name was forgotten and he came to be known as Drakhitya Baba , The baba living under a tree.
Once Akhandanandji went to Drakhitya Baba and said Guru Maharaj you have been here for twelve years. Once gets peace looking at you. How was it that your chose this place of you residence?
Drakhitya Baba said I am saved from devotees calling me to their villages off and on UI spared form plurality of forms names and travels and an established in non dual self.
Baba was really reposed in True self. He had know what is knowable the consciousness Absolute; He had attained self realization. Akhandanandji said Guru Maharaj I don’t seek fame. Wealth or learning. Pleases bless me that my mind and intellect get fixed in God.
Drakhitya Baba found a worthy prospect in Akhandanandji and said see I give you one full day. Come to me at the same time tomorrow and tell me the places other then god where your mind and intellect stay. Find out a place dived of God. I will carry off you intellect stay. Find out a pace devoid of God. I will carry off your mind form there and place it in God. What a thought But one should have this knowledge and then he need out be advised upon these verse. Once should assimilate the truth that God is everywhere. Wherever you see it is the Lord everywhere. Whatever you think about is God.
But not every man is blessed with such understating.
Arjuna was as greatly righteous valiant and resolute as the man can every dream to be . Such
Arjuna is being told by a teacher like lord Krishna, Arjuna if you can not behold me in /my all pervasive formless being adopt the alternative of live and devotion towards My incarnation in human form an through such love and devotion you can attain to Me the formless, impersonal Being. In the tenth canto of the Gita The lord says. Among the tree I am the hold pipal tree. Why on one hand you say that I am omnipresent:
I am the self O Gudankesha seated in the hearts of all beings.
The lord dwells in the hearts of all beings. O Arjuna:
Then you say, Among the tree I am the hold papal tree among Siddhas I am the sage kapil among words, I am the sacred syllable.
If you are where have other words and sounds emanated form? If you are pipal where have other tree come from.
If you cannot fathom the Absolute in it totality see him in his remarkable manifestations it is easier for you to devote your mind to differentiated manifestations for you too are a differentiated manifestation for you too are a manifestation of His. Therefore the Lord says among the trees I am holy pipal tree: among Siddhas I ma the sage Kapil. It seems to be an inescapable conclusion; the Lord must have been faced with the problem of aspirants having different qualification to apprehend the truth. The Lord says in the Gita that at the dawn of creation, He had given this knowledge of Ultimate Truth to surya the sun god surya passed it on to his son Manu but with the passage of time the knowledge had become extinct. So exalted and esoteric is this knowledge.
Vedanta is esoteric but there is no others way. Vedanta is difficult to comprehend and assimilate because the mind had become externalized and the intellect is preoccupied with finite things. But the Lord is giving the remedy if you cannot grasp My all pervasive formless Being. Devoted your mind ad intellect towards My incarnation in human form.
You go the temple. This is very primacy stage. If you fix your mind and set your heart in the marble idol of the lord your intellect will revolt and if your try to prove the Atman n by logical argumentation the heart will not accept. Therefore your need to resort ot the Yoga of constant practice. The Yoga of practice purifies the heart and the will not accept. Therefore you need to resort to the Yoga of practice purifies the heart and the intellect becomes subtle. If the heart is purified and the intellect becomes subtle. A little vicinity of a self realized saint will make the intellect shutter and by constant practice the intellect becomes subtlest which results in self realization. Reaching that state of blessedness of Atman (the Self ) established in which lord Narayan finds repose lord Shiva is engrossed in trance is real heroism.
Now science of chemistry has discovered the effect of a catalytic agent, Which actually does not take part in the chemical reaction but accelerates it. If you decompose the water you find tow elements oxygen and hydrogen But you cannot form water simply by mixing these tow elements. When is water formed? It is only when the lightning flashes that oxygen and hydrogen are combining into water. So electricity is essential to formation of water: the electricity is a catalytic agent. Similarly both the pure Consciousness’ and the individual consciousness are present like oxygen and hydrogen but their synthesis does not take place. Self realization does not take place to cause the rain of the water of the bliss of Brahman. It is only when the presence of a Brahmavetta acts as a captivity agent that one realize God and gets Brambles by the Combination of pure consciousness and chidabhasa, the reflected consciousness.
